Compassion Buddies

Welcome to Compassion Buddies!

We are so excited for you and your family to be a part of OUR family! This is a ministry built with Biblical Truth in mind, and on the example of Jesus Christ.

Though this ministry is directed towards those with special needs, there is something for EVERYONE within Compassion Buddies. The amount everybody can learn and grow from this ministry is exciting. We are called to be transformed and to not live in the ways of the world. Having a ministry like Compassion Buddies exposes this local body, to many with extraordinary skills and many that approach life from a completely different perspective. This is a ministry focused on care, but it is also a ministry where transformation learning will take place. Our mission statement encapsulates this reality. “Compassion Buddies, to bring support, love, growth, and unity to all peoples through the ministry of special needs.” 

We want to focus on the heart of unity through the ministry of Compassion Buddies. We, as the body of Christ need to take care of the whole body, otherwise we are broken. Through Compassion Buddies you will see unity through all people groups through church services, ministry/serving opportunities and special events.

The idea of Compassion Buddies is to provide necessary spaces for our people to function and learn about Jesus in the best way possible for each individual person. We will have a sensory room for kids where our modified curriculum will be presented to them. We want to be able to give our students in Compassion Buddies a buddy to be able to participate in general Sunday school classrooms. We will be using the Orange curriculum, modifying it to suit our students. This ministry will be individualized as much as possible to suit the physical, emotional, and most importantly the spiritual needs of the person.

We have a FORM for anyone who has a family member with special needs, to fill out, so that we can learn about them and the best ways we can ministry to them at Compassion. We will require this to be filled out for the sake of the persons well being and safety. If possible, we would also like to meet and collaborate with the families prior to them coming, so that we can figure out the best course of action. 

Compassion Buddies will be launching April 27th, 2025 and will be available for both 9:00am and 10:30am services, except for every 5th Sunday. On the 5th Sunday we will have an available space, if needed, where the service will be streamed, and will offer care for the second service. In order for this ministry to take off, we need you. We need people to be buddies, we need people to help behind the scenes, we need your loving and compassionate hearts to step up in this area of need.
