The One Eight Campaign is about saying "yes" to God's mission. Inspired by Acts 1:8, we believe God is calling Compassion Church to reach people in our community, throughout our region, and around the world.

Through this campaign we are pursuing three mission priorities:

• Greater Freedom by eliminating our remaining mortgage debt. 

• Larger Family by launching a new Compassion Campus in Concord. 

• Faithful Frontier by supporting the Nazarene Hospital in Papua New Guinea. 

This isn't simply about buildings. It's about creating more opportunities for people to encounter Jesus. 

Every season presents opportunities that require faith.

Today we have momentum, ministry opportunities, and an open door in Concord. At the same time, our remaining mortgage requires approximately $14,000 every month that could otherwise be invested directly into ministry.

Rather than waiting, we believe God is inviting us to move forward now so we can remove barriers and maximize future ministry.

No. Buildings are simply tools for ministry.

Every aspect of One Eight is centered around reaching people—not creating more comfortable facilities. The new campus exists to reach new families, students, those seeking recovery, and people needing compassionate care. Paying off debt allows more ministry dollars to stay in ministry. Supporting Papua New Guinea reminds us that God's mission always extends beyond ourselves.

Yes, and that's a great question.

During the Serve Both campaign, our church completed the Compassion Kids building debt-free while construction costs rose dramatically during COVID. Leadership chose to prioritize finishing a space for children rather than taking on additional debt.

Because of that campaign:

• Over $137,000 was applied directly to the mortgage principal. 

• Since 2018, our church has retired approximately $1.1 million in debt. 

One Eight is not repeating the past—it's finishing what we started.

Our full vision is the Miracle Milestone of $1.8 million.

To celebrate progress along the journey, we've also established two milestone goals:

• Praise Milestone: $1.0 Million 

• Victory Milestone: $1.3 Million 

• Miracle Milestone: $1.8 Million 

These are not three separate campaigns. They are milestones on the way to fully funding the vision. 

Every gift is divided immediately across the entire mission.

• 45% Greater Freedom (mortgage retirement) 

• 45% Larger Family (Concord Campus) 

• 10% Faithful Frontier (Papua New Guinea) 

That means every gift supports all three mission priorities simultaneously.

Because we believe God has called us to live on mission in all three directions at the same time.

Rather than waiting years to plant another campus or support global missions, every gift immediately advances local ministry, regional expansion, and worldwide compassion.

This reflects the heart of Acts 1:8—Jerusalem, Judea, and the ends of the earth.

There is no expected amount.

Our prayer is that every person and family will simply seek God's direction and respond in obedience.

This campaign is built around equal sacrifice—not equal gifts.

For some, sacrifice may mean a significant financial commitment. For others, it may mean faithfully giving a smaller amount. Every "yes" matters.

The One Eight Campaign is intended to be above and beyond regular tithes and offerings whenever possible.

Our ongoing ministries continue because of faithful weekly giving. The campaign provides an opportunity to make an additional investment in what God is calling us to do next.

Please don't feel pressure.

Your participation matters far more than the size of your gift.

Some people may be in a season where their greatest contribution is faithful prayer. Others may be able to give financially in significant ways. We celebrate obedience, not comparison.

Yes.

Many people find that gifts of appreciated assets, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), business interests, or other non-cash assets allow them to make a larger Kingdom impact while also receiving potential tax advantages.

A commitment card is not a legal contract. It is simply your best expression of what you believe God is leading you to do today.

If circumstances change, please don't feel guilt or embarrassment.

The giving emphasis will extend over approximately 18 months, with the goal of celebrating God's faithfulness by September 2027. 

We are committed to transparency.

Regular updates will be shared with the church so everyone can celebrate what God is doing together.

Our focus will always be on celebrating God's faithfulness rather than comparing individual gifts.

Campaign gifts will be managed through the established financial accountability structures of Compassion Church.

Leadership and the church board will continue providing oversight and stewardship throughout the campaign.

There are many meaningful ways to participate.

• Pray faithfully. 

• Encourage others. 

• Share stories of God's faithfulness. 

• Serve at campaign events. 

• Invite others to experience what God is doing. 

• Give as God leads. 

Everyone has a role in the story God is writing.

More than a dollar amount, we hope people remember that this was a season when our church trusted Jesus together.

Buildings will eventually age. Campaigns will eventually end. But every life changed because we chose obedience over comfort will matter for eternity.

If years from now someone comes to Christ because we made room, removed barriers, or invested in God's mission, every sacrifice will have been worth it.
